Curly, the third Stooge
The Three Stooges were a famous comedy trio who lived in New York City. Their members included Larry Fine, Moe Howard, and Curly Howard. They were a staple of television comedy in the early 1940s. The trio’s appeal lasted into the mid-1960s, when their antics dominated the airwaves and spawned an explosion of popularity. Afterwards, they remained a fixture of popular culture, and their popularity grew to such a level that they were given their own museums. In 1983, the New York Times reported that the fan club had 10,000 members.
The Lassin brothers have built an impressive collection of Stooges memorabilia. The museum opened three years ago in a renovated architect’s office, and has a permanent exhibit on each member of the gang. The Stoogeum is open on select weekends, and Lassin said that he expects to change the displays in the near future. The artifacts on display are not all of the Stooges’ works of art, but there are also dozens of other items to look at and enjoy.
Curly’s memorabilia
The Stoogeum Ambler PA is filled with memorabilia from the Three Stooges. Curly’s pottery cat, Moe’s family photographs, and Larry’s driver’s license are among the items on display. Moe was an amateur sculptor, but his work is displayed in the museum. The museum also features memorabilia from later replacement Stooges like Moe Howard and Larry.
The museum’s main exhibits include memorabilia from the trio’s many movies. It features rare memorabilia, as well as the memorabilia of Curly’s comrades. There are more than three thousand items in the museum, and the museum’s storage room holds thousands more. Items on display include jigsaw puzzles, photos, and movie posters. Among the most unusual items on display are a genuine Three Stooges talking bottle opener.
While Curly’s memorabilia is on display, the museum is also home to a movie theater. In the museum’s theater, you can view a never-ending series of Three Stooges Shorts.
