Temple University Ambler

The Friends of Robbins Park was established in 1995. The group worked with Habitat for Design to develop a stewardship plan for the park. The University, Upper Dublin Township, and the Environmental Protection Advisory Board all have a hand in developing educational programming for the park. The Friends of Robbins Park and Upper Dublin Township have partnered to preserve the park and improve educational opportunities for local students.

TA Regional (R5) Rail Line

The TA Regional (R5) Rail Line runs through Ambler, Pennsylvania. The train station is located at a mile stretch of the Schuylkill River Greenway. There are also connections to the Pennypack and Wissahickon trails, as well as other suburban trails and the PA Turnpike. The trail will also run beneath Route 309 and a regional freight line. Upon completion, the route will connect with other areas of Ambler and the nearby Upper Dublin Township, as well as the Route 73 Trail. Both sides of the train station will be connected to the trail, with improvements to the road shoulders and signage.

Recreational opportunities

The Upper Dublin School District negotiated with the Township to develop a new environmental study center. The park was selected because of its proximity to schools and its relatively undisturbed condition. The Cheston and Robbins families, as well as Westrum Properties, donated acreage in the park for educational purposes.
